Events

Throughout the year, the PSO hosts a variety of social events with the goal of building relationships and fostering a community of support between the staff and students and their families.

Trunk or Treat: Join us for a special version of trick or treating in the Durham parking lot.  Families are invited to decorate their trunks for a night of trick or treating!

Family Game Nights: Throughout the year, the PSO hosts family game nights.  Gather around for a fun night of games and community!

STEAM Night and the Science Fair: is to encourage our student’s love of Science and Math while also allowing an opportunity for the student body to interact with the staff and their families by displaying their projects for all to see.

One School – One Book and the Read-A-Thon: Durham Elementary has a tradition of Family Literacy! One School, One Book is a school wide program that engages every student, every parent and every staff member in reading a book together.

In partnership with our Literacy team, we also host a read-a-thon encouraging students to read while also raising funds for our school!

Spring School Dance: Hosted in the Spring, a fun community event!

End of the Year Picnic: The final social event of the year! Bring a picnic dinner or purchase dinner from a local food truck and enjoy an evening of celebration to commemorate another year of school nearly completed, and to ring in the coming of summer vacation.
