Events

Throughout the year, the PSO hosts a variety of social events with the goal of building relationships and fostering a community of support between the staff and students and their families.

Walk & Bike to School Days: Join Mr. Boudreau and Mrs. Megowan and the Tigard Police Department and walk or bike to school! All students who participate will receive prizes from the City of Tigard. The Tigard school with the most participation will receive the GOLDEN SNEAKER AWARD from the City of Tigard! Lets show them that Roadrunners are the best!!

Fall Family Fun Night: The whole school turns out to celebrate the coming of Autumn with a night of outdoor activities and apple cider at Baggensto’s Farm.

Two events set aside just for parents and their students to build relationships with each other, we host a Mother-Son  Night and a Father-Daughter Dance during the winter months.  Both are hosted at the school with music, activities, photos, dancing and more.

STEAM Night and the Science Fair is to encourage our student’s love of Science and Math while also allowing an opportunity for the student body to interact with the staff and their families by displaying their projects for all to see.

We Are Durham Night: The PSO proudly supports the school’s tradition of hosting a Multicultural Fair that invites the whole community to participate. Special performances, artwork displays, interactive booths and tastes of ethnic foods are all a part of this exciting event.

One School – One BookDurham Elementary has a tradition of Family Literacy! One School, One Book is a school wide program that engages every student, every parent and every staff member in reading a book together.

End of the Year Picnic: The final social event of the year! Bring a picnic dinner or purchase dinner from a local food truck and enjoy an evening of celebration to commemorate another year of school nearly completed, and to ring in the coming of summer vacation.
