Volunteers are so important to making our kids’ Durham experience special. Support from parents like you can be in the form of time, money, food, or crafts. We need all levels of support to make a difference in our community.

Durham PSO Volunteer Opportunities
We rely on our amazing volunteers to support our school community. Below are the key coordinator roles that help make our events and programs successful:
Family Community Events: Help plan, set up, or run one of our many community events including Trunk-or-Treat, Spring Dance, and End-of-Year Picnic
Hospitality Chair: Organizes staff appreciation events, including monthly gatherings, beginning-of-year breakfasts, and end-of-year luncheons.
Jog-A-Thon Coordinator: Leads the annual school fun run, including coordinating with volunteers, managing fundraising platforms, organizing logistics, and overseeing event-day setup and operations.
Art Literacy Coordinator: Manages the art literacy curriculum, including selecting artists, attending district meetings, and coordinating class Art Lit projects.
Family Restaurant Fundraisers: Coordinates monthly community restaurant fundraiser nights and manages related communications and event promotions.
Read-A-Thon: Leads our annual reading fundraiser alongside Durham staff by managing prizes, coordinating with school leadership, and handling all event materials.
Book Fair Coordinator: Manages the book fair logistics, including scheduling, publicity, volunteer coordination, and setup/take-down.
Yearbook Coordinator: Help bring our Yearbook to life while working closely with Dorian studios who publishes and manages the book.
Game Night Coordinator: Oversees game night planning, including publicity, supplies, and volunteer management.
STEAM Trivia & Science Fair: Supports STEAM night activities, manages science fair project logistics, and organizes awards and prize distribution.
Oregon Battle of the Books (OBOB): Coordinates with the librarian to schedule and run school battles.
Social Media & Marketing: Manages our Facebook and Instagram presence, promotes PSO meetings and events, and shares relevant district information.
